Wine and Younger looking skin…?

Well, well, well… you made another successful holiday dinner. Pat yourself on the back as you look around and see all of the dishes in the kitchen, piled up like the Saint’s trying to recover the football. But all is good, the family is happy until you order one of them to stack the dishes in the dishwasher while you take a much needed and deserved bath.

winePick up the cheap bottle of wine that Uncle Bob brought over with a few other ingredients from the cabinet and head to the bathroom or you can use what has been leftover from any open bottle or glass. The only decision that’s left for this evening is what kind of spa treatment to use…

You can indulge in a Facial Mask, a Bath and Body Scrub or a Red Wine Honey Bath Soak… or try them all! Now you know why I said to use the cheaper stuff!

What makes a wine bath so invigorating? Well, according to some pretty important people in the industry, red wine could be useful in slowing down the aging process. (At my age, I need all the help I can get.) You see, red wine contains resveratrol, which is an anti-aging ingredient that is commonly used in many of those expensive face creams. These are my fave recipes so far, ingredients are easy as long as you haven’t drunk the contents of the bottle just by reading the first paragraph!

Red Facial Mask

1 egg white
3 tablespoons of red wine
1 tablespoon of organic raw honey

wine

Be gentle when mixing the egg white, honey and red wine. Make sure the mixture is smooth and spread the paste evenly over your face and neck. Wondering what to do with the rest of the wine? Well, take the bottle and pour yourself a glass and relax for about 10-15 minutes. After time has passed, rinse off with lukewarm water and follow with a splash of cold water. Rather than rub, pat your skin dry. Apply a moisturizer to seal the deal.

Note: The mask may not be thick at first, but it will eventually stick to your face and the effects will have your skin feeling tighter than before. This recipe is great for those who have sensitive skin.

Wine Bath and Body Scrub

10 tablespoons of raw sugar
10 tablespoons of brown sugar
6-8 tablespoons of raw organic honey
4 tablespoons of red wine

Mix all of these ingredients together and rub all over your body like normal while you bathe or shower. This potion smells delicious, but don’t eat it. You will feel an enjoyable tingling sensation and notice that your skin is nice and smooth. Don’t forget to nourish your insides as well. Why not pour yourself a glass while you add a body cream to seal in the moisture.

336x280_remedies-2Bath Soak

4 cups of red wine
1 cup of honey

Pour in the wine and honey while the warm water is running. Relax for about 20 minutes, rinse off and pat dry.
The mixture of red wine and honey makes for a moisturizing bath soak. It opens up the pores while absorbing the antioxidants and amino acids released by the wine. The honey is what promotes moisture retention. Not to worry if you don’t drink… this recipe will not enter your bloodstream, however, it will intoxicate you. You will feel elated when you’re done.
I tried the facial mask and from experience, I can recommend it. I can’t wait to try the others. If you have, let us know your results.

Now of course I would’ve just drunk it, and I did have a glass of the tastier stuff while I enjoyed my facial mask, but with so much alcohol around during the holidays, you may want to think again before pouring the cheap leftovers down the drain!

That’s all I have for now, ladies. As always, be inspiring… be inspired. This is your girl, Mikki Donaldson, with another Inspire Beauty tip.
