Look younger with Face Yoga
I know it sounds cliché and it doesn’t help that I’m probably the most cynical person I know, but this new craze has forced me to do my research. Research I have!
Face Yoga has been dubbed the best anti-ageing tool, soon we’ll be meeting up in groups all over the world to practice together- although I’d prefer if we didn’t! I only say this because I have a fear of looking stupid in public and this is exactly what you will look like doing these exercises, be prepared! They actually remind me of the facial warm-ups we would do in my Drama and Theatre class at school, we looked ridiculous but they did help relax and loosen us up which I believe was the point.
So from the privacy of my own home…I have decided to give this a go, I mean it promises to keep you looking younger for longer and with no needles, win win right? It can also form part of your everyday exercise routine…if you exercise everyday that is, show off!
The fact is, we spend so much time looking after our bodies and often neglect our face. I know from personal experience that apart from facial scrubs, moisturizing, removing or applying make-up and the occasional facemasks, that’s all we actually do for our face. We rely on the big companies to provide us with a cream that will stop time somewhat so that we don’t wake up one morning and prematurely see our mothers face staring back us. Not to mention that were too busy to even start paying attention to the wrinkles that are starting to form. This busy lifestyle has left us with the only solution, if you wake up and feel like you look old, Botox it!
This is fine for those that can afford it and can maintain it and I’m not completely against it, but if I can minimize how much I will need and delay when I will need it, then I will. I know I will get old and that I will not look the same and I’m fine with it, but I would like to look and feel great while enduring the inevitable!
I’ve searched the net for the best tutorials and I have added them below. These are great step-by-step tutorials and my face felt really good and awake. However, they didn’t really give me the ‘yoga feel’. I think its because I was doing my exercises sat down in front of my mirror with the radio on and definitely missed the relaxation and calming effects that Yoga usually has on me. I think the music they use in class also has a huge effect and doing this at home without the music seems to miss the point.
Before I gave up I did sign up to Beautyfaceyoga.com as they had a range of videos that you could watch after you became a member and they had music, bonus! Beautyfaceyoga.com have put in the elements of movement plus yoga, meditation and relaxation. The instructor is great and the videos really have a lovely aura about them.
I honestly felt great afterwards and so did my face. I suffer from TMJ also and I’m confident that this could really help as it focuses on strengthening the face muscles and tissues.
I did my yoga for my body first and then did face yoga to finish as it really relaxed me and made me so happy and ready to face the day, you can do it anyway you prefer. The other thing I really liked was that all the content is online, so the next time I travel (and have free hotel Wi-Fi) I can log in and still get my exercise in. I admit at first it will seem like another chore to add to morning routine, but the way it makes you feel makes its totally worth it, it has become something I do every morning after I brush my teeth!
There are lots of tutorials on face yoga, but even if you sign up to beautyfaceyoga.com its still cheaper than going to a class a few times a week and the best thing is, its natural, no gimmicks and no needles! I know that there’s is no proof that this will definitely keep you looking younger for longer, however the benefits you will feel now, will be the reason you will continue!
All our readers get the subscription at a discount, click here to purchase, but please if you are going to try it please refrain from practicing in public spaces as people may find it strange if you start pulling faces at them…!
