Shea butter lips balm
After posting about how to make a classic lips balm now is time to upgrade this product and add some new ingredients. I think that as long as you have more options for the same beauty product you cannot get tired of it. You always can improvise (as long as the ingredients work well together) and try multiple variants. This is another beauty of homemade care…infinite possibilities at accessible prices.
So, for the Shea butter lips balm you will need:
- 1/4 cup beeswax (as said in other posts this is the main ingredient)
- 1/8 cup Shea butter
- 1/8 cup coconut butter
- 1 teaspoon almond oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup rose petals
You need to mix all the ingredients and melt them: you have multiple possibilities- either you melt them using bain-marie technique, in a pan over low heat or in the microwave oven using a heat resistant recipients. The last is the fastest but I am not a fan of microwaves so I do not use it. No matter what technique you use, after the ingredients are melted, take the rose petals out and mix well. Put the mixture in several little metal boxes usually used to store lips balm.
I believe this lips balm is perfect for a cute personal Christmas present, or any present
