The benefits of lemon water
As promised in my last post, I have detailed the benefits of lemon water.
I’ll be honest; I have never really been a fan of lemons. Apart from drizzling a little over salmon or meat, I could never really handle the bitterness to actually bite into one.
In my last post, lose weight in 2 weeks I explained that I had been drinking 2 litres a day of lemon water. If you don’t give it a try for all the benefits it provides at least you would have found a great way to add a healthy and calorie free flavoring which will add some zing to your water.
Our bodies are made of 60% water and water is needed to survive, it flushes out toxins and keeps the brain functioning. The minimum requirement is 8-9 glasses a day depending on how much exercise you do. Personally I can find water a little boring after my fourth glass and if you’re the same then this should be perfect for you!
Lemons are a rich source of Vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant protecting the body from harmful molecules which can contribute to cancer and heart disease. Vitamin C is also vital for collagen that is needed to help the skin heal with cuts and bruises.
But wait there is more…!
Lemons are so impressive that they ease digestion and aid your bowels in eliminating waste more efficiently, therefore relieving symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, constipation and bloating! This may be why my stomach looked flatter!
I have also noticed that my asthma has calmed down somewhat as it usually very difficult to deal with during the warmer months.
I would challenge everyone to try this even if it is just for a week, please let me know how you got on!
